volvo 1030 (there are several castings.)
it uses a dana 30 carrier(3.73 and up).
ring and pinon are dana 30 standard rotation, low pinion, short pinion. these are easily available from us or any 4X4 shop.
ring and pinion dimensions. ring gear OD 7.20", pinion OD1.376"
if you want to use a aftermarket ring and pinion lower than 3.73 then you will also need the 3.54 and down carrier.

volvo 1031( and 1041) (several castings)
it uses a dana 30 carrier 3.73 and up
ring and pinion are volvo 1031 specific( they are a hybrid between a dana 30 and 35)
these are only available at a reasonable price USED. the new prices from volvo went threw the roof, they cost $1001 list price now. (i have been working on getting some produced , but there just isn't enough of a market at the moment)
ring and pinion dimensions. ring gear OD 7.562", pinion OD 1.406"
another note about the volvo 1031 ring and pinions, if the final drive ratio is less than 3.73 it still uses the 3.73 and up carrier.
